On Relationship Issues

Welcome!    I contemplate today on a quote from the Buddha:

Live in joy and love, even among those who hate.
Live in joy and health, even among the afflicted.
Live in joy and peace, even among the troubled.
Live in you, without possessions, like the shining ones.
The winner sows hatred because the loser suffers.
Let go of winning and losing, and find joy.

                                                      May you be blessed!
                                                      Rev. Barbara

Welcome!

The Spiritual Contemplations that were presented on the Daily Contemplations page at www.ministerialseminary.com will now be presented on this new blog.  By way of video and text, I will share with you my experiences regarding my daily contemplation practices. I encourage you to respond with your own thoughts, experiences and learnings regarding these contemplations as well as your own practices.

Together, we grow in God as we share from our hearts.  Today's contemplation deals with relationship issues and attack/defend behaviors that manifest in the closest of relationships.  This is because close relationships have the ability to bring out our projections and shed light on the unhealed segments of our spiritual and personal growth.

Today's contemplation has helped me look inward as to why and when I incorporate these useless ways of interacting with those I love.  Today I make a conscious effort to see only the light of God in those who I meet along the way and then am blessed to experience a positive change in my earthly experience.

I do not believe anyone should charge the amount you are charging to become ordained.Six years ago God called me into the ministry and i accepted and have done his will for my life since.I can understand someone charging a small fee to print out and ordination certificate but not 650.00.This is not a God thing this is a greed thing. This is the reason many will end up in hell because they see the greed of so called Christian's every day and want not any part of it.Do you not think if i said God has ordained me that is not enough to say ok brother or sister we will ordain you for the soul purpose of getting around mans law that you talk about.Did Jesus go to collage before he could die on that cross?NO.Did he need to be ordained?NO.So why is it you see the need to charge someone 650.00 to become ordained?Greed perhaps?

      Hi Harold,

We are always happy to hear the views and opinions of our visitors.  However, I would have preferred that you reviewed our site before sending your message.

Contrary to what you think you have read, we do not charge $650.00 for an ordination credential.  We charge a modest $34.99 to our clergy members to receive their ordination credential and ID Card.  This also provides for them a life-time membership with no renewal fee.

The $650.00 you are referring to is the cost for a university level course of study that leads to a life-time certification with the Seminary. Similar studies elsewhere would cost our clergy members thousands of dollars.  Also, our studies are not mandatory, but optional for those who feel they are in need of such supports.

Your email is ironic to me in that we share similar beliefs.  Yet you find the need to judge us and call us greedy.  The Seminary upholds the belief in preordination -- in that ordination comes from God, not man.  As such, we strive to support the rights of independent, interfaith and nondenominational ministers who are seeking a way to answer their calling from God.  We provide a spiritual bridge to accommodate their good works.  Many of our ministers have established ministries and services to help all of humankind from independent churches, soup kitchens, street ministries, prison ministries, and much more.  We are very proud of them, indeed, and look forward to being supportive in whatever way possible.

As is stated on our site, Jesus did not ask his disciples what educational backgrounds they had.  He simply said "follow me."  If you would have read our "ordination requirements" page, you would have realized that we are literally on the same page.

If you  have been asked by God to "follow him", then we send our love and prayers your way.    Either way, I ask His most blessed grace on both you and I as we dialogue this misunderstanding of the Seminary's primary purpose.

      Be blessed!

Dear Rev Barbara,I want as a real Christian man to tell everyone that has taken a look at my comment of first that i was wrong in what i have said and i have repented of such.I'm glad you are doing the right things not the wrong things that so many are doing and yes we are on the same page.I have found still most that see that someone has been granted ordination via web site that many will not honor that and i wonder how one can over come that.I understand that this is wrong for anyone to think in this way but we do live in a world that is like that and does judge very harshly and the ones that do this judging are mostly Christian people and especially Pastors because they feel the had to go to a seminary and why should everyone else not have to.This shows me after all the years they went to seminary they didn't learn much of Gods word or they would not feel the way they do.I am starting a TV show soon and the work on the studio is almost finished and maybe you and i could do a show on this subject. My Pastor doesn't agree with web site ordination although he views me as a Pastor.I understand his views on this because he has seen the web sites i have seen and im sure you have as well.Anyway i wanted to make myself clear on this and to tell you i wish you all the best in what God has called you to do.If you have a church of your own i would like one day to come and bring a message from our Father.LICJ Harold Willett.

          Hi again Harold,

It was indeed an honor to hear from you again.  Isn't it wonderful how simple open and honest communication can draw those together who wish to be open and spread the peace of love of God??

I can understand your skepticism, however.  There are many sites out there that are just out to make a buck.  It is one of the negative things we have to contend with.  One can never be too sure about a website as who is to know if it is indeed valid??  Yet, while we have to pay our bills like everyone, our main goal is to be of service.

I am very excited to hear more about your TV show.  I would be honored to participate in any way I can.  You might be interested in reading my latest blog that uses the Allegory of the Cave as an example of how difficult it is for those, like you and I, who choose to serve God regardless of race, color, creed or educational background.   For example, I my educational background includes a BA in Human Behavior and Social Science and an MA in Family Psychology.  I then pursued seminary studies to obtain my Ordained Ministerial Counselor certification.  Still, my local hospital will not allow me to minister to the sick there as I do not have my masters in Theology.   I'd love to know what you think.

Please have a blessed and wonderful day.  May God be with you!
